Celebrity Style at an Affordable Price

So, as it turns out, stars can also appreciate a good deal.  Vanessa Hudgens and Alessandra Ambrosio were spotted rocking the Moonlight Dress by For Love and Lemons.  The dress is really cute and each lady wears it so well.  Immediately one would think that these ladies paid a pretty penny for this item, considering what big celebrities they are.  Much to my surprise and great approval, I found this dress on Edge of Urge's website for only $186!

The common misconception is that in order to possess "celebrity style" one has to pay top dollars for an ensemble.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Now if splurging is your thing and you can afford it, I wouldn't dare tell you how to spend your dollars.  We all have our designer craves.  However, for the lady on a more modest budget, be mindful that there are perfect items out there for very affordable prices.  The key is to be creative when putting pieces together and always incorporate your personal style.  The brand of the item is irrelevant because the item doesn't come to life until you add your fierceness to it.
Who said great style had to come with a big price tag?

Haute or Not?

Remember sack lunches?  Those folded, brown paper bags stuffed with a sandwich and other goodies?  Well meet the picnic lunch bag, with a twist!
This picnic clutch was spotted on the runway at Celine's Spring 2013 show.

After doing a bit of research, I came across another version of the clutch which I assume is probably easier on the pockets.  These are a part of Marie Turnor's accessory line.  These can be purchased at Shopbop.

So what's the verdict?  Haute or not?

Holiday Sparkle

It's holiday time and this holiday season, I will be wearing sequins, sequins, and more sequins. I absolutely love this time of the year.  It makes me feel so bright and cheerful.  So, I'm choosing to add plenty of sparkle to my wardrobe.  I decided to put together a few key pieces that I think would be perfect for an outing with friends and/or that special someone.  Jazz each item up with other items that fit your personal style.  End 2012 with a bang and bring in the new year with an even bigger one.  Shine on!

Golden Girl

My husband's company hosted their annual Christmas party this Friday at the Royal Sonesta. Being the last-minute shopper that I am, I waited until Thursday to purchase my outfit. Considering that his co-workers are much older than the two of us, I had to be sure to choose something sophisticated, but still keep it fun. I came across a white tuxedo blazer with a black lapel and fell in love. To add a bit of a wow factor, I paired it with a gold, sequins peplum top. I think sequins are perfect for the holiday's (that gives me an idea for a future post). Anywho, check out my look!

Haute Look Remix

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm not the type to rock an item once then push it to the back of my closet. If you're a stylish fashionista on a budget, try remixing a look. This way you can show a little creativity and get the most out of an outfit. I purchased this dress in May to wear to my Grad school graduation (yay me!). I recently attended the Fall launch and 2nd Anniversary party for Amelie G. Mag and decided to wear it again, but with a touch of edge. Initially, I kept it bright and upbeat considering the season. This time around, I toughened up the look with a cropped, waterfall blazer, black booties with zipper details, a belt at the waist, fun accessories, and a bold lip color.
Which do you like better?

Bold Blazers

Blazers with bold details and colors, I think I'm in love.  Blazers are making appearances on scenes other than the workplace.  They are a great way to layer and add life to a simple look.  If you haven't noticed, I'm always looking for a way to spice up an outfit.  Check out a few pieces that caught my eye.

Pump It Up

Pump It Up

Take your outfit from zero to sixty by simply adding a hot pair of shoes to your look.  Pump up a simple ensemble with a set of pumps that are sure to make you stand out.
Shoes are also a great way to remix an outfit.  I'm not sure about you, but I am not the type to wear something once, then let it collect dust in my closet.  Switching up the footwear and accessories will create an entirely new look.
Pointed toe's are timeless and a great way to dress up a look. Try sky-high platforms, if you're the daring type. Gold and a touch of metal are fun and on-trend. Cap toe's and two-toned pairs will definitely catch some attention. Have fun with your choices, there's so much to choose from!
