Haute Look Remix

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm not the type to rock an item once then push it to the back of my closet. If you're a stylish fashionista on a budget, try remixing a look. This way you can show a little creativity and get the most out of an outfit. I purchased this dress in May to wear to my Grad school graduation (yay me!). I recently attended the Fall launch and 2nd Anniversary party for Amelie G. Mag and decided to wear it again, but with a touch of edge. Initially, I kept it bright and upbeat considering the season. This time around, I toughened up the look with a cropped, waterfall blazer, black booties with zipper details, a belt at the waist, fun accessories, and a bold lip color.
Which do you like better?

Bold Blazers

Blazers with bold details and colors, I think I'm in love.  Blazers are making appearances on scenes other than the workplace.  They are a great way to layer and add life to a simple look.  If you haven't noticed, I'm always looking for a way to spice up an outfit.  Check out a few pieces that caught my eye.

Pump It Up

Pump It Up

Take your outfit from zero to sixty by simply adding a hot pair of shoes to your look.  Pump up a simple ensemble with a set of pumps that are sure to make you stand out.
Shoes are also a great way to remix an outfit.  I'm not sure about you, but I am not the type to wear something once, then let it collect dust in my closet.  Switching up the footwear and accessories will create an entirely new look.
Pointed toe's are timeless and a great way to dress up a look. Try sky-high platforms, if you're the daring type. Gold and a touch of metal are fun and on-trend. Cap toe's and two-toned pairs will definitely catch some attention. Have fun with your choices, there's so much to choose from!

NOLA Fashion Week: The Dope. Game

The Dope. Game brought plenty fun and flavor to NOLA Fashion Week.  Their line was comprised of graphic tees which all featured the catchy term "dope".  Contrary to what some may initially think when they hear the word, the young designers of this line have used to term in a much more positive way.  Check out some of the shots that I managed to get...

NOLA Fashion Week: Jolie and Elizabeth S/S 2013

Jolie and Elizabeth  presented a collection that was feminine and sophisticated, but featured details that packed an unexpected punch.  The collection was filled with dresses in both vibrant and pastel colors, with sweetheart necklines, pleats, peplums, seersucker fabrics, and more.  I absolutely adored the hair accessories that the models wore, which complimented the sweet, southern appeal of the designs.  Here are a few photos that I was able to snap during the show...
Simple front, with a sassy back
Strapless with a touch of color block
Vibrant shade of pink

Okay Winter, please make it quick because I can't wait for Spring to get here!  ♥

Partying and Fashion InvadeNOLA Style

Last Thursday I attended the InvadeNOLA Fashion Issue Release Party at Phillip's Bar. Simply put, the party was the ish. The decor was lovely, the appetizers were delish, and drinks were on point (and reasonably priced might I add). The place was packed, which I think speaks volumes about the type of person Justin (the founder and publisher of the online magazine) happens to be. He had mad supporters that night and after speaking with him briefly, I quickly understood why. Justin was very personable and made sure to work his way around the room to thank all who came out. It was definitely a night comprised of partying and fashion. I suggest that you check InvadeNOLA out. It will keep you in the know about New Orleans' food, fashion, music, and more. I'm on their mailing list :)
